Apple tests ProMotion displays for iPad Mini 8

Apple is evaluating 60Hz and 120Hz ProMotion displays for the upcoming iPad Mini 8. An announcement is expected at the end of October.
On the latest episode of his Power On podcast, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman revealed that Apple is currently testing two types of displays for the iPad Mini 8: one at 60Hz and another at 120Hz with ProMotion technology. While it has been confirmed that both options are under evaluation, it remains unclear which one will be selected for the new device.
## Why it matters Choosing a 120Hz ProMotion display could significantly enhance the user experience, especially in terms of smoother scrolling and touch responsiveness. This feature, already present in other Apple devices, could position the iPad Mini 8 more competitively against other tablets on the market.
## What we know Apple is expected to officially announce the iPad Mini 8 between October 27 and 28. In addition to the display option, rumors suggest the device will include an OLED display, an A20 Pro chip, a landscape front camera, a redesigned speaker system, and a water-resistant design.
## What is still unclear It has not yet been confirmed which type of display will ultimately be implemented in the iPad Mini 8. Apple's final decision could influence the perceived value of the device, as well as its appeal among users who prioritize visual quality and smoothness in their usage.
