Cost to Replace iPhone Duo's Matte Screen Layer Revealed

Apple has disclosed that the matte display layer on the iPhone Duo can be replaced, which is great news for users of this device. To get this replacement, users will need to visit an authorized repair outlet, similar to what is expected from other foldable phones on the market.

The cost for this replacement with AppleCare Plus is $19, making it a relatively affordable option for those who have already subscribed to this service. In comparison, Samsung offers a free replacement within the first year of purchase for its devices, highlighting a significant difference in customer support between the two brands.

Such repairs are crucial for users who want to maintain the integrity of their devices, especially in foldable models where the screen is a critical component. Apple's confirmation regarding the replaceability of this screen layer reflects an industry trend towards sustainability and device repairability.

## Why it matters The ability to replace the matte layer of the iPhone Duo is important as it allows users to extend the lifespan of their device and avoid the cost of more extensive repairs or purchasing a new phone. Moreover, this decision could influence consumer perception of the brand, especially in a competitive market where Samsung offers a more appealing alternative.

## What we know We know that Apple has officially confirmed that the matte screen layer is replaceable and that the cost for this service is $19 with AppleCare Plus. The company has also indicated that repairs must be carried out at authorized centers.
