Leaks on Apple TV 4K and new HomeView revealed

Just two days before Apple's "Welcome home" event in New York, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has leaked information about several upcoming products, including a new smart hub named HomeView, a HomePod mini 2, and a refreshed Apple TV 4K. The HomeView, seemingly confirming a trademark filing, will feature a touchscreen and an A18 chip, similar to that found in iPhones, indicating strong performance for a smart home device.

The HomeView will be available in two versions: a tabletop model with a metal speaker base and a wall-mounted version. The tabletop model promises better sound quality than the current HomePod mini, which may appeal to users looking for a superior audio experience in their homes. Additionally, HomeView will support voice control through Siri, facilitating its integration into the Apple ecosystem.

The variety of finishes available for HomeView, including Gray, Silver, Starlight, and Rose, suggests that Apple is aiming to attract a wide range of users, allowing customization of the device's aesthetic according to home decor. The arrival of these devices could signify a significant advancement in Apple's strategy within the smart home market, where competition is increasingly fierce.

## Why it matters The introduction of HomeView and an upgraded HomePod mini marks an important step for Apple in the smart home sector. This not only expands their product range but also reinforces their commitment to creating a more cohesive and user-friendly smart home ecosystem for consumers.

## What we know It has been confirmed that HomeView will feature an A18 chip and support for Siri, as well as various design and format options. The sound quality of the tabletop model will also be superior to that of the HomePod mini.
