Microsoft enhances search functionality in Windows 11

Microsoft has announced it is working on a major update for the search function in Windows 11. This overhaul aims to enhance speed and resource efficiency, which should provide users with a smoother and faster experience when searching for files or settings on their devices.

One of the most interesting new features is the addition of 'actions', which will allow users to adjust Windows 11 settings directly from the search bar. This approach not only simplifies access to important options but also promises to make searching more intuitive and straightforward.

## Why it matters Search functionality has long been a weak point, and this update could mean a significant change in how users interact with their system. Improved performance and reduced strain on system resources are crucial aspects for those using Windows 11 on devices with limited hardware.

## What we know The new search experience is currently being rolled out to testers in the Experimental channel of Windows 11, although its availability is expected to be limited at this initial stage. Microsoft has built this update using WinUI 3, the contemporary interface framework for Windows 11, suggesting a modern and efficient approach.

## What remains unclear It has not yet been confirmed when this update will be available to the general public, nor if additional features will be implemented in future versions. Users should stay tuned for updates from Microsoft to learn more about the full rollout.
