MSI desktops discounted during Amazon Prime Day

During Amazon Prime Day, MSI has discounted its Codex Z2 and Aegis R2 desktops by $200 each. However, there's a significant price gap of $870 between the two, raising the question of which model truly offers better value for users.

The MSI Codex Z2, now priced at $1399 (down from $1599), is recommended for most buyers due to its balanced performance and price. In contrast, the Aegis R2, which boasts superior hardware, is available for $2269 (previously $2469), making it a pricier but potentially more powerful option.

## Why it matters Choosing between these two models is crucial for users seeking a prebuilt desktop, as a higher price does not always equate to proportional performance differences. The decision will depend on individual user needs such as graphics power, storage capacity, and budget considerations.

## What we know The Codex Z2 features a Ryzen 7 8700F processor and an RTX 5060 graphics card, making it ideal for gaming and demanding tasks without breaking the bank. Meanwhile, the Aegis R2 offers enhanced specifications, including a faster graphics card and more memory, which may appeal to serious gamers.

## What is still unclear It has not been confirmed whether the discounts will extend beyond Prime Day or if there will be other offers in the future. Additionally, there are no details on whether hardware upgrades or new versions of these models will be released in the near term, which could affect users' purchasing decisions.
