Opera launches free 3GB travel eSIM in its Android browser

Opera has made a significant move by integrating eSIM capabilities into its Android browser, allowing users to access 3GB of free data for the first three days. This development aligns with the increasing adoption of eSIMs, which are valued for their ease of use and flexibility, especially for those traveling abroad.

The inclusion of eSIM in the browser means that users can quickly connect to local networks without the need for a physical SIM card. This results in a smoother user experience, as there is no need to wait for a card to arrive or deal with swapping SIMs. The offer of 3GB of free data is particularly appealing for those planning to travel soon, eliminating concerns over high roaming charges.

## Why it matters The addition of eSIMs in third-party applications like the Opera browser represents a breakthrough in how users can manage their mobile connectivity. This innovation not only enhances the user experience but could also influence the telecommunications market by fostering greater competition among service providers.

## What we know Opera has confirmed that its browser now allows eSIM activation, offering 3GB of free data to Android users. The setup is quick and does not require additional information such as email addresses or payment details, further simplifying the process.

## What remains unclear Details about the duration of the offer after the initial three days have not yet been provided, nor whether there will be paid options available once the 3GB is exhausted. It also remains to be seen how long-term connections will be managed and if there will be any limitations on data usage.
