Ray-Ban Meta users report secret audio recordings

Recently, several users of Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses have reported a troubling feature that activates audio recording without consent. According to posts on Reddit, some owners have found audio recordings and text transcripts saved on their devices that were not requested or activated by the 'hey Meta' voice command. This phenomenon has been observed across different models, suggesting it could be a widespread issue.

This situation is particularly sensitive for Meta, which is already facing criticism over privacy concerns related to its products. The company has stated that the issue has been resolved, but it has not provided details about what caused this unwanted activation. For some users, turning off the voice activation feature seems to have fixed the issue, but this raises questions about the security and privacy of such devices.

## Why it matters This incident highlights concerns about privacy when using wearable technology, especially in devices that record audio. Consumer trust in tech products can be severely impacted by such incidents, which may influence future purchasing decisions.

## What we know So far, we know that several users have experienced unsolicited recordings on their Ray-Ban Meta glasses. Meta has stated that the issue has been addressed, but has not provided specific information about the nature of the fault.

## What remains unclear It is still unclear whether the problem has been completely resolved for all users or if specific models may still be experiencing issues. Additionally, the lack of details about the root cause of the problem raises concerns about the security of the technology used in these devices.
