Google rolls out upgraded screensavers for Pixel 9

Google has begun rolling out upgraded screensavers for its Pixel 9 model, a feature originally introduced in the Pixel 10 series. These screensavers not only offer a more attractive design but also include advanced functionalities that enhance the user experience when the phone is docked and charging.

With the launch of the Pixel 11, Google unveiled a series of new styles and features for screensavers, prompting the company to extend these improvements to older devices like the Pixel 9. Although the Pixel 9 lacks the magnetic accessory system found in newer models, users will still be able to enjoy these new visual options.

## Why it matters The screensaver update signals Google's commitment to keeping older devices relevant by enhancing the user experience without requiring users to purchase new models. This approach may encourage users to continue using their older Pixel devices and reflects a more sustainable approach to mobile technology.

## What we know The rollout of upgraded screensavers for the Pixel 9 is underway, and it is expected to reach all users of this model in the coming weeks. The new styles promise to be more dynamic and visually appealing, enhancing the aesthetics of the device while it is charging.

## What remains unclear It has not yet been confirmed whether all the styles and functionalities of the new screensavers will be accessible on the Pixel 9, as some features may depend on hardware specific to newer models.
