WhatsApp could add audio to stickers

WhatsApp, the popular messaging app, might soon introduce a new feature that allows users to add audio to stickers created from images and videos. This update could enable users to record up to 10 seconds of audio for static stickers and 5 seconds for animated ones, undoubtedly enriching the communication experience on the platform.

For a long time, WhatsApp has allowed users to share stickers in their chats, offering a wide variety of pre-designed sticker packs as well as the option to create their own. With the addition of audio functionality, stickers could become an even more expressive and fun tool for users, allowing them to personalize their messages with a sound touch.

## Why it matters This new feature could change the way users communicate through stickers, making them more interactive and allowing for greater personalization. The ability to add audio could make stickers more engaging and enjoyable, enhancing the overall messaging experience on WhatsApp.

## What we know WhatsApp is actively developing this feature, according to an analysis of its code. In addition to the audio option, a new two-line compose box and the ability to add or remove the outline from stickers are also in the works. This suggests that the platform is looking for ways to modernize and improve the functionality of its stickers.

## What is still unclear It has not yet been confirmed when this feature will be available to all users, nor whether there will be any restrictions on the types of stickers that can include audio. The company has not detailed if there will be a gradual rollout or if it will be implemented immediately across all platforms.
